Butterfly Kit: $12

Butterfly larvae eat their own very particular food. The kit consists of a container with host plant, netting and a second-instar caterpillar. Children can watch the caterpillar eat and grow for 6-8 days, then they will be able to watch the metamorphosis begin as the caterpillar transforms into a chrysalis. After 7-10 more days, an adult butterfly will emerge! Louisiana only.
